Associate Vice President, Operations Team Leader Greater Tokyo, Japan Area

The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President - Operations Team Leader for a newly created role in Japan. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing operational expertise across the end-to-end trade lifecycle for commodity derivatives, physical metal distribution, metal financing, and logistics management. This role requires close partnership with business desks, infrastructure teams, and external parties across various regions, including Asia, London, India, and Manila. Key responsibilities include ensuring front-to-back controls are in place for new business initiatives, managing logistics processes, supporting the confirmation and settlement of various products, and contributing to the development of processes and procedures to support business growth. Applicants must have at least 7 years' experience in a commodities role within a financial institution, with a strong knowledge of base and precious metals markets and market practices. Understanding of Japanese precious metals distribution, local regulatory requirements, and experience in logistics operations are essential. The role also demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to build effective relationships, and fluency in Japanese and English. The ideal candidate will be an excellent team player, with strong analytical and data-management skills, and the ability to work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A Bachelor's degree is required, and experience in leveraging AI tools for business problem-solving is a plus.
