Head of Japan

The Company is seeking a Head of Japan to lead its food business with a focus on P&L management, commercial strategy, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and executing the mid-to-long-term business strategy, leading the annual operating plan, and ensuring the delivery of financial targets. This role requires a leader with a proven track record in developing new markets, strong commercial acumen in route-to-market design, and the ability to engage with local channels in Japanese and the HQ in English. The Head of Japan will also be tasked with optimizing the supply chain, leading the cross-functional management team, and representing the entity with partners, authorities, and HQ while managing food safety and regulatory risk. Applicants must have more than 15 years of experience in FMCG or consumer goods, with a background in F&B, and a history of large P&L ownership. The role demands a leader with strong operational and financial discipline, capable of leading a multi-channel route-to-market strategy, and experienced in key account negotiations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Japan's distribution and retail channel structure, as well as experience in areas such as M&A, JV, or new business development. Fluency in Japanese and business-level English is essential, and experience in global talent development and cross-cultural stakeholder management is highly valued.
