Head of Legal

The Company is seeking a Head of Legal to lead a broad range of legal work and support preparations for a public listing. Responsibilities include managing shareholder and board meetings, overseeing stock-related matters, and developing internal regulations and governance practices. The role also covers drafting and negotiating commercial, contract, investment, and M&A agreements; improving contract review and management processes; and advising business teams on legal matters. The successful candidate will manage and develop the legal team and work closely with senior leadership and external advisers. Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree, fluent Japanese, and at least five years of in-house legal experience, including practical work in commercial or contract law at a listed or listing-preparation organization. They should be proactive in advising leadership and business teams and able to move projects forward in collaboration with external experts. Experience with listing preparations, board and shareholder meetings, both commercial and contract law, process redesign, or team management is preferred. A legal qualification or law graduate degree is also an advantage.
