Head of Legal & Compliance, Asia Pacific

The Company is seeking a Head of Legal and Compliance for the Asia Pacific region. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the legal and compliance function across the region, providing expert advice to regional leadership on a wide range of legal, regulatory, and strategic business matters. This includes overseeing corporate and client transactions, litigation, claims, and external counsel management. The role also involves driving compliance with global, regional, and local policies, rules, and regulations, as well as supporting enterprise risk management, business continuity, HR legal matters, and governance programs. Applicants must be admitted to practice in at least one Asia Pacific jurisdiction, with more than 12 years' of experience in private practice and/or in-house, particularly in the areas of investment management and/or asset management. The role requires prior leadership and people development experience, as well as a proven track record of working within a global legal function and navigating matrix reporting structures. Professional-level proficiency in Japanese and English is essential. While not mandatory, prior experience in real estate and knowledge of multiple Asia Pacific regulatory regimes are preferred. The position is at a senior management level and demands a candidate with a high level of expertise and the ability to manage regional legal budgets, performance priorities, and legal systems adoption.
