Interim Head of ML & MLOps Engineering, Fintech Engineering Greater Warsaw, Poland Area

The Company is seeking a Head of ML and MLOps Engineering to lead the development of a state-of-the-art ML platform with a strong focus on responsible AI and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and leading the ML and MLOps team, establishing model-development standards, and ensuring that all models have a clear business case with measurable monetary outcomes. This role is pivotal in creating a production ML platform that is engineered for serving, monitoring, reproducibility, and retraining, and in implementing rigorous validation and testing processes for credit and decisioning models. Applicants for the Head of ML and MLOps Engineering position at the company should be leaders with a passion for data and system building, and hands-on experience across the full ML lifecycle. The role requires a deep understanding of model-risk management, and responsible AI governance, and experience in high-stakes ML, particularly in credit-scoring or underwriting modeling. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building and leading teams, and be fluent in English with a minimum of 7 years of experience in ML, including at least 3 years in a leadership role. Bonus qualifications include expertise in CCD2 and consumer-credit regulation, DORA/ICT risk, IFRS 9 implications for model outputs, fraud-detection ML, and experience with Databricks/Spark.
