Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Homeland Sector Greater Washington D.C. Area

The Company is seeking a Chief Technology Officer to shape how technology advances the Homeland Sector’s strategy, growth, delivery, investment priorities, and future portfolio. The role leads the Sector’s technology organization and connects enterprise technology capabilities with customer, market, and operational needs. Responsibilities include engaging customers early, supporting strategic pursuits, strengthening technical execution, and guiding technology investment and portfolio decisions. The CTO will advance responsible adoption of AI and other emerging technologies, promote modern engineering and delivery practices, and identify opportunities to reuse platforms and capabilities where they create value. The role also builds technical leadership and talent, drives organizational transformation, and represents the business with senior customers and partners. Candidates should bring executive technology leadership experience in a large, complex organization, with a record of shaping business strategy and using technology to influence growth, customer demand, and investment. They need technical credibility across multiple disciplines, experience modernizing complex systems and delivering technology at scale, and the ability to lead change across a matrixed organization. Strong people leadership, including developing senior technical leaders and attracting critical talent, is essential, as is the ability to communicate complex technical issues clearly to executives, customers, and technical teams. Experience in mission-critical sectors, government and commercial business models, modern software and systems engineering, data, AI, digital engineering, or international operations is preferred.
