Associate Vice President, Staff Perimeter Defense Engineer Greater Waterford, Ireland Area

The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President, Staff Perimeter Defense Engineer to lead the strategy, architecture, and engineering of enterprise perimeter security capabilities. Responsibilities include defining security roadmaps, implementing and improving controls, and partnering with network, infrastructure, cloud, application, and cyber defense teams to secure networks, applications, APIs, and remote access. The role will guide initiatives involving firewalls, web application and DDoS protection, secure access, and Zero Trust, while integrating security platforms with monitoring and threat intelligence solutions. The engineer will also develop standards, lead technical evaluations, track security effectiveness and risk reduction, and serve as a subject matter expert. Candidates should have at least eight years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, security engineering, or security architecture, including five or more years designing and implementing perimeter security controls. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience is required. Strong knowledge of network security, segmentation, Zero Trust, cloud and hybrid architectures, and technologies such as WAF, DDoS protection, ZTNA, SSE, SASE, VPN, and network access controls is expected. Experience integrating security platforms with SIEM, SOAR, and threat intelligence, along with analytical, troubleshooting, automation, communication, and collaboration skills, is important. Relevant professional certifications and experience in regulated industries are preferred.
