Head of Development, Data Centres

The Company is seeking a Head of Development to lead the technical development of large-scale data centre projects, including hyperscale campuses. The role will define site development strategies covering capacity, power supply, grid connections, master planning, and permitting. Responsibilities include overseeing design and engineering partners, setting technical requirements, and ensuring projects meet standards, budgets, and schedules. The successful candidate will lead grid connection and permitting activities, prepare projects for sale or partnership, and manage technical due diligence with operators and investors. The role also involves building an internal technical team and representing the organization in discussions with public authorities, utilities, regulators, and other stakeholders. Candidates should hold an engineering degree, preferably in electrical or mechanical engineering, and have proven data centre industry experience. They must have led at least one hyperscale project of 50 MW or more, ideally across development, design, and delivery. Strong practical experience with high-voltage grid connections and permitting in Italy or elsewhere in Europe is required. The role also calls for excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to engage senior decision-makers. Fluency in Italian and English is essential.
