Chief Risk Officer (CRO)

The Company is seeking a Chief Risk Officer to join its Executive Committee and lead the Risk and Compliance function. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to the investment strategy and decision-making process, with a primary focus on maintaining a robust risk-management framework that is in line with the organization's purpose, strategy, and operating environment. This role requires a professional with significant senior leadership experience in risk management within a complex financial-services environment, particularly in investment, banking, asset management, or development finance. The Chief Risk Officer will be responsible for defining and developing the company's risk appetite and ensuring that it is effectively integrated into the investment process. They will also provide independent advice and oversight on the organization's risk profile, risk appetite, and emerging risks. Essential qualifications for the role include a deep understanding of investment risk across various private-market activities, broad knowledge of operational risk, compliance, and control environments, and a high degree of commercial acumen. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of identifying and influencing the management of emerging risks, as well as the ability to lead and develop specialist professional teams. Desirable experience includes a background in a development bank, private-capital investor, or publicly owned investment institution, and a sound understanding of the UK financial-services regulatory environment. The Chief Risk Officer will be expected to demonstrate leadership capabilities such as exercising independent judgment, maintaining second-line independence, and effectively communicating complex risk matters to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.
