Vice President of Accounting & Financial Reporting Greater Houston, TX Area

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Accounting and Financial Reporting to lead external financial reporting, technical accounting research, audit coordination, and the monthly close process. The role will oversee the preparation and filing of regulatory reports, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, and provide guidance on complex accounting matters and new standards. The successful candidate will partner with executive leadership, coordinate external audits, support tax compliance, and collaborate across teams to strengthen financial processes and controls. They will also lead, develop, and mentor the accounting and financial reporting team. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, CPA certification, and at least 10 years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience; a master’s degree is preferred. Required qualifications include leadership experience managing accounting teams, extensive regulatory reporting expertise, and strong knowledge of GAAP, technical accounting standards, internal controls, financial close processes, and tax compliance. Experience coordinating external audits and communicating complex accounting matters to senior leaders is essential. Experience at a publicly traded company or in homebuilding, real estate, or construction is preferred.
