Vice President of Finance & Operations Greater Houston, TX Area

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Finance & Operations to lead its financial strategy and operational infrastructure as part of the executive leadership team. The role oversees multi-year financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial controls, audit and tax coordination, board finance reporting, risk management, compliance, and contract systems. It also sets the organization’s technology, administration, employment operations, facilities, and shared-services strategy, while leading finance, event operations, and operations teams. The successful candidate will build scalable systems, support strategic growth decisions, and partner with organizational leaders to balance operational standards with program needs. Candidates should have at least eight years of progressive experience, including senior leadership across finance and operations, and experience owning an organizational budget or P&L and presenting financial information to a board or finance committee. Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting, restricted funds, audits, and cash management is required, along with a record of building effective controls, policies, contracts, technology, and administrative systems. The role calls for sound judgment in risk and compliance, experience developing senior staff, and the ability to explain complex financial and operational matters to varied audiences. A bachelor’s degree is required; a CPA, MBA, or equivalent finance credential is strongly preferred.
