Academic Dean, Business School

The Company is seeking an Academic Dean to provide strategic and operational leadership for a large, growing business school. The Dean will lead the school’s direction and performance, improve student engagement, retention, attainment, and progression, and develop inclusive, applied teaching approaches for diverse student cohorts. Responsibilities include leading and motivating a substantial academic workforce, using data to meet performance targets, and ensuring academic quality, governance, and regulatory compliance. The role also involves building partnerships that support the school’s reputation, performance, and growth. Candidates should have significant senior academic leadership experience in higher education and a strong record of improving student outcomes, academic quality, and organizational performance. They should have experience leading large, diverse teams through growth and change, along with expertise in data-informed planning, KPI management, and performance improvement. A deep understanding of widening participation and inclusive pedagogy, knowledge of UK higher education quality and regulatory frameworks, and relevant academic and professional credibility are required. The ideal candidate will be commercially aware, resilient, and committed to delivering excellent outcomes for diverse student communities.
