Executive Director, Head of Business Governance

The Company is in search of an Executive Director, Head of Business Governance to spearhead the First Line of Defence governance and controls function within its Investment Banking business. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the establishment and maintenance of a robust business-owned governance framework, with a focus on strengthening risk management, accountability, and operational effectiveness. This pivotal role involves overseeing the IB&M First Line governance and controls framework, acting as the primary business contact for regulatory matters, and ensuring the implementation of effective governance and assurance mechanisms across various business segments. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, with a professional certification in risk, compliance, AML/CFT, or financial crime being advantageous. A minimum of 10-15 years' experience in a reputable international bank, particularly within Investment Banking & Markets, Risk, Compliance, or Internal Audit, is required. The role demands a strong understanding of financial services regulations, with specific knowledge of UAE/CBUAE regulations being highly beneficial. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in first-line governance, risk and control assessments, regulatory engagement, and issue remediation, as well as excellent senior stakeholder management and communication skills.
