Head of Workforce Optimisation
Hiring Company
About the Role
Greater Brisbane, Australia Area (On-site)
The Company is seeking a Head of Workforce Optimisation to set the long-term direction for workforce planning and translate it into a practical development roadmap. The role will lead improvements to workforce planning tools, including optimised rostering, shift swaps, and values-based scheduling, working with technical teams to deliver regular releases. A key responsibility is driving adoption among operational leaders and supervisors by understanding user needs and addressing barriers to use. The successful candidate will improve forecast accuracy, retention, and roster fairness, using adoption data and employee feedback to guide ongoing development and grow the function as the business expands. Candidates should have three to five years of senior-level experience building or improving a workforce planning or optimisation function. They must have experience planning and managing a high-volume, predominantly blue-collar workforce with a substantial casual component, and a track record of building or integrating workforce tools and supporting their adoption. Strong candidates can set strategic direction while remaining hands-on, and understand how rostering affects retention, absenteeism, and team stability. Relevant experience may come from sectors such as transport, logistics, warehousing, manufacturing, hospitality, or consumer services.
