The Company is seeking a General Counsel for its Residential Americas division. The successful candidate will serve as the lead legal partner for the residential HVAC business, providing strategic and day-to-day legal advice on a wide range of business matters. This includes the drafting, review, and negotiation of complex commercial agreements, ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements, and working with business leadership on the development of strategic plans for new products and services. The role also involves managing legal aspects of joint ventures, handling litigation, and driving the execution of legal policies and projects to mitigate risk and protect the company's interests. Applicants must have a J.D. degree from an accredited US law school, be a member in good standing of a State Bar Association, and have at least 15 years of legal experience, with a minimum of 10 years in an in-house counsel role. A strong corporate transactional background, excellent legal judgment, and superior communication and negotiation skills are essential. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, resourceful, and have a proven track record of managing legal teams and outside counsel. Experience in commercial litigation and a business-oriented approach to problem-solving are also required. The role demands a leader who is flexible, adaptable, and unafraid of challenges, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively.
