The Company is seeking a VP, Underwriting with a strong background in leading underwriting teams and a proven ability to build and manage profitable commercial lines books. The successful candidate will be a hands-on technical expert, responsible for underwriting a diverse range of commercial risks across the U.S. This role requires a leader who can demonstrate expertise in pricing adequacy, negotiate complex terms and conditions, and exhibit advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. The VP, Underwriting will also be tasked with developing and implementing underwriting strategies, guidelines, and pricing strategies to support the company's business plans and growth objectives. Applicants must have a minimum of 8 years' leadership experience in underwriting, with a focus on small, middle-market, and complex risks. Advanced risk assessment skills, existing agent and broker relationships within the Midwest States, and the ability to make sound decisions based on data and risk assessment are essential. The role demands a visionary with strong sales and marketing skills, the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, and a proven track record in fostering a performance-enhancing culture. A background in the property and casualty insurance industry, along with a CPCU or relevant industry certification, is preferred. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing change in a dynamic environment and will be committed to the values of the organization.
