The Company is seeking a Chairperson for its Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. The successful candidate will serve as the administrative, fiscal, and curricular leader of the department, with responsibilities that include budgeting, staffing, scheduling, and supervising. The role also involves overseeing facilities, mentoring faculty, and engaging in various outreach activities. The Chairperson will be expected to interact with the Dean of the School of Engineering and other department chairs, lead efforts to enhance the department's reputation, and support a vision for its future direction. Teaching and research activities are also part of the position, as appropriate. Applicants for the Chairperson position must have a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering, with a minimum qualification of having achieved the rank of Associate Professor. A strong commitment to inclusive excellence, effective communication skills, and a sustained record of teaching, mentorship, and research are essential. The ideal candidate will have a rank of Professor, experience in effective administration, stewardship of financial resources, and a proven track record in various areas such as strategic planning, curriculum development, and promoting an inclusive academic environment. The role requires a candidate with effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, and a commitment to the values of the institution, including the Marianist tradition of education.
