Vice President, Research & Development, Coffee

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Research & Development to lead the Coffee business’s technical agenda, from sourcing and product development through commercialization and market support. The role will define and execute innovation, renovation, packaging, and new-format strategies, while guiding multidisciplinary teams through development, scale-up, launch, and post-launch activities. The successful candidate will collaborate across procurement, supply chain, marketing, operations, and technical functions, and translate consumer, sensory, and scientific insights into commercial decisions. Responsibilities also include evaluating emerging technologies, developing technical talent, and advancing productivity, operational improvement, and supply-chain resilience. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in food science, chemical engineering, or a related technical field, along with at least seven years of progressive consumer packaged goods research and development experience, including substantial leadership responsibility. The role requires experience leading cross-functional teams and complex portfolios from concept to commercialization, as well as partnering with procurement on sourcing, supplier innovation, and commodity-intensive product development. Applicants should be able to connect technical insights to commercial outcomes, prioritize innovation, and support continuous improvement and organizational transformation. A graduate degree, coffee-category knowledge, and experience in matrixed organizations with shared technical capabilities are additional qualifications.
