Managing Director, Insurance & Risk Management

Greater Columbus, OH Area
The Company is seeking a Managing Director for its Insurance and Risk Management Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing all activities related to risk and insurance management, including insurance procurement, risk financing, and the oversight of captive insurance. This role involves the development and maintenance of risk management policies and procedures, as well as supervising a large team and multiple external vendors. The Managing Director will also be involved in leading the marketing of insurance programs, collaborating with the legal department on significant claims, and overseeing the management of various types of claims. Candidates for this position should have a Bachelor's degree, with a preference for a field related to insurance and risk management, business, finance, or engineering. A minimum of 10 years' experience in finance, corporate risk management, or insurance is required, with at least six years in a supervisory role. Experience in the energy or utility industry, as well as with captive insurance companies, is highly desirable. The ideal candidate will also have a certification in either CPCU or ARM and possess strong leadership, strategic, and negotiation skills. The role demands a professional who can effectively manage a large department, maintain vendor relationships, and lead the creation of new risk and insurance management policies as needed.
