Interim System Vice President, Clinical & Industry Trials

The Company is seeking a System Vice President, Clinical & Industry Trials to develop strategy and lead the growth and management of its clinical trial enterprise, including investigator-initiated research, industry-sponsored trials, and strategic partnerships. The role oversees trial operations, regulatory compliance, budgeting, contracting, performance, activation, recruitment, and data integrity across sites. The successful candidate will streamline processes, advance digital and decentralized trial approaches, and ensure adherence to applicable regulations and policies. Responsibilities also include leading research teams, developing staff, expanding trial access, and collaborating with investigators, executives, sponsors, regulators, and internal partners to advance the research mission. Candidates must hold an M.D. or equivalent medical degree, an M.D./Ph.D., or a Ph.D. with advanced research certification or equivalent clinical trialist experience. At least 10 years of progressive senior leadership experience in an academic medical system, health system, or extramural funding agency is required, along with a record of leading large-scale clinical trial programs and research partnerships. Applicants should have deep knowledge of FDA regulations, Good Clinical Practice, the clinical trial lifecycle, and research compliance, including advanced certification. Experience with digital health tools, AI in trials, decentralized trial models, and EHR-integrated research platforms is also required, as are exceptional strategic, communication, collaboration, and change leadership skills.
