Head of Legal

The Company is seeking a Head of Legal to oversee litigation, commercial agreements, real estate transactions, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include coordinating external counsel and dispute strategies; drafting and negotiating agreements for construction projects, acquisitions, and joint ventures; and advising stakeholders on legal risks, land acquisition, leasing, and contract administration. The role will develop compliance programmes covering anti-corruption, governance, and risk mitigation, and support due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and divestments. It will also involve preparing reports for senior leadership and the board, collaborating across business functions, and mentoring junior legal staff. Candidates must be Malaysian-qualified lawyers with 8–15 years of experience in corporate commercial and litigation matters, preferably in construction or property development. Experience in established private practice followed by in-house legal work is required, along with a track record negotiating and managing agreements for major projects. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as is proficiency in Mandarin to work with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders.
