Associate Vice President, Marine Underwriter

The Company is seeking an AVP, Marine Underwriter to join their Regional Marine team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the growth of a profitable Cargo/T&L portfolio in the UK regions, leading external engagement and business development with marine brokers, and supporting the Head of Regional Marine in enhancing the company's capabilities and proposition in the sector. This role requires a professional with at least 10 years of underwriting experience, a strong background in Cargo/T&L products, and a proven track record in underwriting. The AVP will be expected to exercise proper underwriting pricing, expand the existing portfolio of business, and collaborate with the marine team across the UK. Applicants for the AVP, Marine Underwriter position at the company should possess strong problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making abilities, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The role demands a logical thinker with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, strong time management, and administration skills. The candidate must be adept at organizing efficiently and have competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office. The company values a team-oriented approach and the ability to forge and maintain long-term relationships. The role also involves attending client and broker meetings, providing technical input into product development, and identifying cross-sell opportunities in collaboration with other lines of business.
