The Company is seeking a Group General Counsel and Company Secretary to join their team. This pivotal role involves leading the legal function and providing strategic, commercial, and risk-based legal advice to the Board, Executive, and senior leaders. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing governance and company secretariat activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving enterprise-wide compliance, risk, and policy management. Additionally, the role includes acting as the Privacy Officer and AML/CTF Compliance Officer, leading whistleblower protections, and developing the Legal & Governance team. The ideal candidate will have extensive senior legal leadership experience, strong commercial and strategic legal acumen, and a deep understanding of governance, compliance, and risk management, particularly in complex not-for-profit or international development environments. Applicants for the Group General Counsel and Company Secretary position at the company should be admitted as legal practitioners in Australia or have an overseas equivalent with progression toward Australian admission. The role requires a candidate with exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and project management skills, as well as a proven ability to deliver high-quality outcomes.
