Vice President, Corporate Development & Strategy

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Corporate Development & Strategy to establish and lead its in-house corporate development function. The role will shape and execute the M&A strategy, source and assess acquisition opportunities, build relationships with business owners, and lead transactions from evaluation and due diligence through negotiation and board recommendations. The successful candidate will also oversee integration planning and synergy realization after acquisitions close. Beyond M&A, the role will lead strategic and operational initiatives, including market analysis, performance improvement, and cross-functional work supporting value creation. Candidates should bring hands-on deal experience, ideally sourcing and closing lower-middle-market transactions, along with strong financial modeling, valuation, and board-level presentation skills. Relevant experience in corporate development, strategy, or transformation within a private-equity-backed business is preferred, as is familiarity with sponsor and board reporting. A background in investment banking or private equity, an MBA, and management consulting experience are sought; exposure to due diligence, post-merger integration, or value creation is advantageous. Experience in defense, aerospace, or government aftermarket sectors is a plus, as are the judgment and interpersonal skills to earn founders’ trust and build a new function.
