Head of Operations

The Company is seeking a Head of Operations to lead the full operational value chain at a food manufacturing plant, from raw material sourcing and processing through quality, maintenance, inventory, dispatch, and customer delivery. The role will develop and deliver a multi-year operations strategy, translate sales forecasts into production and purchasing plans, and drive efficiency, yield, and waste improvements. Responsibilities include leading supplier relationships, food safety and quality, planned maintenance, utilities, on-time delivery, workplace safety, and operational budgets. The successful candidate will build and develop a strong leadership team while strengthening systems and capabilities for sustainable growth. Candidates should have a degree in Food Science or Technology, Dairy Technology, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field; an MBA or postgraduate qualification is an advantage. At least 10 years of experience in operations, manufacturing, or supply chain, including five or more years in senior management leading multiple functions, is required. Food manufacturing experience is essential, ideally in dairy or fast-moving consumer goods, along with a record of measurable improvements in cost, efficiency, quality, and service. Strong knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma, HACCP, and relevant food safety standards is required, as are experience with budgets, investment cases, and ERP systems, and strong Excel skills.
