Associate Vice President, Data Solutions Engineering

The Company is seeking an Associate Vice President for Data Solutions Engineering. The successful candidate will be tasked with building operational data pipelines and delivering fully documented datasets that support data integrations. This role is pivotal in engaging with business partners to understand their data needs and in developing data engineering solutions to meet those requirements. The AVP will work closely with data platform engineers, data governance, data science, and data analytics/visualization teams to ensure the delivery of well-architected data solutions. Additionally, the role involves leading the build-out and deployment of data pipelines, with a strong emphasis on reliability, scalability, and governance. Applicants for the AVP position should have a Bachelor's degree in Math, Computer Science, or Engineering, with a minimum of 7 years' experience in a data engineering role, including at least 5 years in programming (Python) and SQL. A robust knowledge of data lakes, data governance, and modern data quality techniques is essential. The ideal candidate will also have a strong understanding of ETL/ELT, APIs, Cloud, and data operations. Domain knowledge in actuarial, investment, and finance within the insurance or reinsurance industry is a plus. The role requires excellent analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication abilities. The AVP will be expected to mentor early-career data engineers and to partner with business teams in the design of data solutions.
