The Company is seeking a Senior Claims Counsel to manage professional liability claims and related litigation. Responsibilities include investigating and evaluating claims, drafting coverage correspondence, appointing and managing counsel, setting reserves, negotiating resolutions, and maintaining thorough claim files. The role also involves reporting on financial exposure and claim strategies, collaborating with underwriting and other business partners, and monitoring legal and market developments that affect claims decisions. The successful candidate will contribute to strategic initiatives and use sound judgment when working with technology-enabled tools. Candidates should have a J.D. or a related field of study and at least six years of relevant legal or claims-handling experience, ideally involving professional liability claims. Strong negotiation, decision-making, conflict resolution, and time-management skills are required, along with clear written and verbal communication and the ability to explain coverage determinations. Applicants should be self-directed and able to build effective working relationships with colleagues, customers, and business partners. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and claims systems is also required.
