About the Role
Greater Phoenix, AZ Area (Hybrid)(Scottsdale, Arizona)
The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead a pivotal phase in its growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of critical financial activities, including owning the senior-lender relationship, preparing and defending covenant calculations, and running the equity process for a strategic investor. This role demands a hands-on approach to capital, lender, and investor matters, as well as a strong background in multi-unit restaurant, retail, or franchise business finance. The CFO will also be tasked with rebuilding period close and reporting controls, maintaining multi-state sales tax compliance, and leading the financial diligence and integration for acquired restaurants. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a similar role, with a focus on period close, reporting, and integration, and will be comfortable working in a dynamic, founder-led environment. Applicants for the CFO position at the company should have a minimum of ten years' experience in finance leadership, with a background that includes a CFO or VP Finance role in a multi-unit restaurant, retail, or franchise business. The role requires a candidate who is adept at managing financial relationships, particularly in the context of a senior-lender amendment or covenant reset, and who has a strong understanding of credit-agreement mechanics. Experience in capital raises, recapitalizations, and acquisition integrations is essential. The CFO will be expected to be a strategic partner to the CEO, with the ability to lead the finance team and outside advisors, and to be the second voice in financial discussions with key stakeholders. A proactive, detail-oriented approach, and the ability to work with modern data tools, including SQL, are also necessary for success in this role.
