General Counsel, Gas Operations

The Company is seeking a General Counsel, Gas Operations, to provide strategic legal advice across operational, regulatory, commercial, and compliance matters. The role serves as lead counsel for gas distribution, transmission, storage, construction, engineering, environmental, and other operational activities. Responsibilities include managing litigation and outside counsel, drafting and negotiating commercial and infrastructure agreements, advising on real estate matters, and representing the organization in negotiations and regulatory proceedings. The General Counsel will monitor legal developments, assess and mitigate risk, and partner with business leaders and senior executives to support operational objectives. Candidates must hold a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school, be licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania, and have at least 10 years of relevant legal experience, including five years supporting utilities, energy, infrastructure, or another highly regulated industry. Experience with natural gas operations, utility regulation, construction and commercial contracts, real estate matters, and litigation management is preferred. Strong knowledge of public utility law, regulatory compliance, contract law, and real estate is required, along with excellent analytical, communication, and decision-making skills. The ideal candidate demonstrates sound judgment, integrity, the ability to influence stakeholders, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities independently.
