Head of IT Department

The Company is seeking a Head of IT Department to lead and develop its IT function in line with organizational goals. Responsibilities include planning and overseeing secure, high-quality IT and information systems development, improving systems and business processes, and managing projects such as system implementation, upgrades, and maintenance. The role also involves setting departmental strategy and budgets, leading and motivating the team, coordinating with other departments, and monitoring outsourced IT providers. The successful candidate will keep abreast of technology developments and recommend solutions to optimize and automate operations. Applicants must have higher education in IT and at least three years of successful team management experience. Required qualifications include leadership and decision-making skills, practical experience managing large-scale IT projects and system development, strong knowledge of IT security, and familiarity with technology principles and technical specifications. Candidates should also have experience with budget planning, strategy development, and outsourcing providers, along with strong organizational, communication, and prioritization skills. Very good Latvian and English proficiency (at least B2), emotional intelligence, resilience, and willingness to become a public official are required.
