Greater Tokyo, Japan Area (Hybrid)
The Company is seeking a VP for its Japan Compliance Team within the Corporate Bank Business Line. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of compliance-related topics, including providing guidance on applicable regulations, reviewing transactions, managing risk assessments, and designing compliance programs. This role requires a professional with a minimum of 8 years' experience in a banking environment, with at least 5 years in financial industry compliance, particularly in corporate banking. The VP will be expected to have a deep understanding of corporate banking products and businesses, as well as the ability to assess new business initiatives and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with global counterparts. Key responsibilities for the VP include advising and supporting the coverage of the corporate bank business on relevant laws and regulations, providing check and challenge for compliance with internal policies, and ensuring that global and local compliance policies are up to date. The role also involves conducting compliance risk assessments, delivering compliance training, and maintaining effective communication with regulators. The ideal candidate will have a university degree or related professional qualifications, be a native Japanese speaker with business-level English, and demonstrate the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
