Associate General Counsel Remote (anywhere in United States)

The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel to join its mission-driven, non-profit organization. The successful candidate will be part of the Legal team, providing strategic legal support and advice to advance the company's objectives. This role is pivotal in managing legal risk and ensuring compliance in key operational areas, including but not limited to, compliance, intellectual property, data privacy, commercial contracts, legal operations, corporate governance, and litigation management. The Associate General Counsel will be responsible for offering independent legal advice on a wide range of matters, from product and service offerings to deal structuring, and will be expected to stay abreast of legal trends to support the organization's growth and innovation. Applicants for the Associate General Counsel position at the company should have a Juris Doctorate from an ABA-approved law school, be an active member of the Bar, and have 8-10 years of legal experience with a focus on the specified legal areas. The role requires a candidate with a proven track record of applying legal expertise in a technology or non-profit environment, the ability to translate complex legal concepts into actionable business advice, and a solution-oriented approach to problem-solving. Strong communication skills, digital literacy, and a high level of diligence and adaptability are essential. While not mandatory, a passion for higher education and additional certifications in relevant subject matter areas are considered a plus.
