Vice President of Engineering

The Company is seeking a Vice President of Engineering to lead day-to-day engineering execution, translating technical strategy and product priorities into reliable, high-quality software. The role combines hands-on technical work—including coding, reviewing changes, prototyping, and resolving production issues—with leadership of a small, senior team. The successful candidate will make AI-assisted development a standard practice, measure its impact on delivery and quality, and use automation to reduce routine engineering work. Responsibilities also include setting technical standards, overseeing platform reliability, security, and costs, integrating AI capabilities into products, and partnering across teams on priorities and customer issues. Candidates should have 15 or more years of software engineering experience and at least seven years in engineering leadership, including three years managing other managers. Deep expertise in distributed systems, API design, data modeling, cloud infrastructure, and DevOps is required, along with experience leading lean, high-output teams and building multi-tenant B2B SaaS products. Applicants must have personally shipped production software using AI coding tools within the past year and demonstrate a record of predictable delivery, team development, and leadership across distributed teams. A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field—or equivalent practical experience—is required.
