About the Role
Greater Milan, Italy Area (On-site)
The Company is seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) with a strong background in complex engineering systems, particularly in the aerospace, robotics, or other mission-critical hardware domains. The CTO will be responsible for end-to-end system architecture, including the full stack from platforms to data pipelines. This role demands leadership in aerospace and hardware engineering, overseeing the design and evolution of stratospheric platforms, flight systems, and control architecture. The successful candidate will also ensure certification and regulatory compliance, lead the technical interface with relevant bodies, and drive AI, data, and platform strategy. Candidates for the CTO position at the company should have a proven ability to lead integrated hardware and software systems and scale engineering teams. Experience in the productization of deep-tech systems, a solid understanding of system architecture, and a hands-on mindset are essential. Familiarity with stratospheric systems, UAVs, satellites, or HAPS, as well as experience in payload integration and exposure to AI/data platforms, is highly valued. The role requires a critical balance between speed and robustness, and the CTO will be expected to build and lead a multi-disciplinary team of engineers. This is a full-stack deep-tech CTO role that is not purely managerial or focused on AI or aerospace, but rather a bridge across hardware, aerospace, AI, and industrialization.
