Head of Technical & Quality

The Company is in search of a Head of Technical & Quality for its food manufacturing division. This senior leadership role is pivotal in ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality, and compliance with retailer requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full technical governance framework, including BRCGS, retailer Codes of Practice, microbiology standards, allergen control, and traceability. Key duties include leading customer relationships, compliance audits, and redesigning the internal audit program to a risk-based, unannounced model. The role also involves close collaboration with the manufacturing team to enforce GMP, hygiene, and traceability procedures, as well as overseeing technical sign-off, specifications, and product launches. Applicants must have extensive technical leadership experience in a large, complex, and highly regulated food manufacturing environment, with a proven track record of managing technical relationships and compliance audits with major UK supermarkets. The role requires a degree in a relevant technical discipline and experience in leading teams through cultural change towards a proactive food safety culture. Experience in Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies is highly desirable. The Head of Technical & Quality will be instrumental in protecting customer confidence and driving a proactive, disciplined food safety culture within the organization.
