Interim Head of Compliance

The Company is seeking a Head of Compliance for a 12-month fixed-term contract. This senior leadership role is pivotal in ensuring that all aspects of the online business, including products, marketing, technology, and third-party arrangements, comply with the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA) and other regulated market requirements. The successful candidate will be the senior regulatory compliance leader, responsible for translating MGA and regulatory obligations into actionable requirements, policies, and controls. Key responsibilities include drafting, implementing, and maintaining compliance frameworks, governance structures, training, and monitoring plans, as well as leading compliance for licensing, platform migration, and operational change initiatives. Applicants must have a minimum of 7 years' regulatory compliance experience in regulated online gambling, with a strong focus on MGA expertise. The role requires in-depth knowledge of MGA license conditions, directives, and compliance expectations, as well as a proven track record in license applications, audits, regulatory submissions, and remediation. The Head of Compliance will also be expected to provide independent assurance, challenge, and timely escalation of compliance risks, and to advise leadership on risk appetite, regulatory strategy, and remediation. Collaboration with legal, risk, and operational teams to adapt policies and governance for the online business is essential, as is the ability to ensure compliance readiness throughout transition and future operating model changes. The ideal candidate will have excellent judgment, stakeholder management, communication, and report-writing skills, and be eligible for, or willing to obtain, MGA Key Function certification.
