Country Head, R&D & Business Development

The Company is seeking a Country Head for R&D and Business Development. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and overseeing all R&D, business development, and project management activities within the Japanese business division. This role involves driving business growth, achieving goals through collaboration with global headquarters, and formulating and managing various plans and budgets for R&D sites. The Country Head will also be tasked with managing R&D site operations, promoting project delivery, and supervising compliance systems. Strengthening business development activities, identifying key customers, and building strategic relationships are key aspects of the position. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a preference for a PhD, and at least 8-10 years' of experience in leading lab operations and business development in the life sciences, chemistry, or pharmaceuticals industries. The role requires a proven track record in driving business growth, managing complex projects, and achieving goals, as well as strong leadership, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have a background in business development processes, lab operations, quality assurance, and compliance, and possess excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Conversational Japanese and business-level English are essential, with additional foreign language skills being a plus.
