The Company is in search of a Divisional Assistant Vice President or Vice President of Underwriting for P&C Excess and Umbrella. The successful candidate will be tasked with a wide range of technical underwriting, pricing, and coverage issues within the home office. This pivotal role demands a leader with a strong background in insurance and reinsurance liability underwriting, capable of managing underwriting referrals, ensuring SOX compliance, and conducting audits. The ideal candidate will be a technical expert, providing oversight and approval, and working closely with field underwriters to maintain and update underwriting guidelines. Responsibilities also include acting as a key resource for field offices, ensuring high-quality underwriting, adequate pricing, and innovative product development, all while maintaining regulatory compliance. Applicants for this role at the company should hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and have a minimum of 10 years' of experience in liability underwriting, with a focus on the retail side. The position requires a professional with strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and interpersonal abilities, and a proven track record in building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
