The Company is seeking a Chief Development Officer (CDO) to lead the planning, development, and growth of a comprehensive fundraising program. The CDO will be responsible for creating and maintaining a multi-channel, multi-audience strategy to secure private and public support for the organization's mission. This role requires an intuitive, energetic, organized, and compassionate leader with a passion for the company's vision and a proven track record in fundraising. The successful candidate will be a key member of the executive team, reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, and will play a pivotal role in enhancing the resources available to empower and serve youth in the Greater Washington region. The ideal CDO for the company will embody the organization's core values of immediacy, sanctuary, stability, and choice. They will work to ensure that the necessary financial support is in place to provide the tailored solutions and wraparound services that go beyond short-term housing and support for the youth. This includes not only meeting basic human needs but also equipping young people with the resources they need to overcome obstacles and barriers, such as workforce readiness, job placement, and post-secondary support. The role is not just about fundraising; it is about fostering confidence, encouraging young people to believe in themselves, and making smart choices about their future. The CDO will be a champion for the mission, a strategic thinker, and a skilled communicator, capable of engaging a diverse range of stakeholders in the work of the organization.
