The Company is in search of a Trustee Treasurer to join its board. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the financial governance of the organization, ensuring its long-term sustainability and supporting its mission to rescue, restore, and find new uses for historic buildings. This is a volunteer position that requires a commitment to the local community and an interest in preserving heritage. The Trustee Treasurer will work closely with fellow Trustees, staff, and a Finance Officer to oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and financial controls, as well as to provide advice on financial matters. Applicants for the Trustee Treasurer role at the company should have a background in finance, accountancy, bookkeeping, financial management, strategic financial planning, or risk management. While a recognized accounting qualification is advantageous, it is not essential. The role involves attending up to six evening meetings per year, the AGM, and finance sub-committee meetings, as well as optional site visits. The Trustee Treasurer will be responsible for preparing financial reports, overseeing the Finance Officer, managing the Trust's bank accounts, and liaising with the appointed accountants and auditors. Previous trustee experience is not required, as support and guidance will be provided.
