Managing Director, Power & Energy Infrastructure Project Finance

Greater Chicago, IL Area (Hybrid)
The Company is in search of a Managing Director for Power and Energy Infrastructure Project Finance. This senior leadership role is pivotal in leading the analytical coverage, sector research, and market engagement within the power and energy project finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of 10 analysts and will be expected to have extensive experience in project finance, infrastructure finance, credit analysis, or debt capital markets, with a significant focus on power and energy assets. A deep understanding of project finance structures, financing documentation, and strong knowledge of the power and energy sectors, including renewable and conventional power generation, is essential. The role also requires proven leadership experience, the ability to foster a positive and high-performing work environment, and strong relationships across the power, energy, and infrastructure sectors. Applicants for the Managing Director position should have at least 15 years' of relevant experience, with a preference for those holding a CFA, MBA, or other advanced qualification. The ideal candidate will have a healthy sense of intellectual curiosity, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects. Responsibilities include providing credit leadership in the ratings process, overseeing the development of research publications, and representing the company in external meetings. The role demands a candidate who can champion analytical excellence, operational efficiency, and is committed to the strategic goals of the company. A Bachelor's degree is required, and the candidate should be adept at mentoring and developing analysts within the team.
