The Company is seeking a Deputy General Counsel to join their legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and overseeing all legal division staff, preparing and rendering legal opinions, and providing legal assistance in the drafting of various legal documents, including legislation. This role also involves managing agency litigation, coordinating legal matters with outside counsel, and advising staff on legal issues. The Deputy General Counsel will work closely with the General Counsel to ensure the agency is informed of any significant legal matters and will be expected to maintain a high standard of integrity and professionalism. Applicants for the Deputy General Counsel position at the company should have a Doctorate of Jurisprudence, be admitted to the Indiana State Bar, and have a minimum of 5 years' of legal experience. The role requires advanced knowledge of laws, legal codes, and court procedures, as well as the ability to supervise and manage staff. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and communication skills, the ability to establish effective working relationships, and a commitment to the values of teamwork and excellent customer service. Responsibilities also include conducting legal research, reviewing contracts, and assisting the Ethics Officer.
