President & Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

The Company is in search of a President and CEO to lead its mission-driven organization, which is dedicated to the conservation of tropical plants, cultural stewardship, and scientific research. The successful candidate will work closely with the Board of Directors to advance the organization's mission, strengthen financial sustainability, and elevate global visibility. This role requires a collaborative, culturally respectful, and mission-driven executive with a proven track record in organizational leadership, fundraising, strategic planning, team development, and external relationship building. Experience in leading a complex nonprofit or similarly mission-driven institution is preferred, and a deep appreciation for the cultural and community aspects of the organization's work is essential. The ideal President and CEO will be an inspiring leader who can unify the organization's staff, champion innovation and collaboration, and serve as a passionate ambassador. Key responsibilities include diversifying revenue streams, growing philanthropic support, and ensuring the long-term financial sustainability of the organization. The role also involves engaging with diverse constituencies, including local, national, and international communities, and fostering a culture of partnership and accountability. The candidate should be an exceptional communicator, with high-level fundraising experience, and a strong background in operations, finance, and business management. While specific experience with public gardens is not mandatory, a deep passion for conservation and botanical research, along with the necessary business acumen, is crucial. An advanced degree is preferred, and the position is based in Hawaii with significant travel.
