About the Role
Greater Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia Area (Hybrid)
The Company is seeking a VP, Business Risk and Control with a focus on compliance, particularly in the areas of AML/KYC and regulatory matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Team Lead in ensuring the operationalization of group and local guidelines, conducting gap analyses, and coordinating with stakeholders to address any compliance issues. This role also involves governance advisory, providing recommendations for mitigating controls, and uplifting AML KYC and regulatory awareness through training. The VP will be expected to uphold service excellence, ensure timely communication of changes, and conduct assurance reviews. Additionally, the role includes risk culture and operational risk management, driving initiatives to raise risk awareness, and managing operational risks in line with regulatory requirements. Applicants for this role at the company should be professionally qualified with a graduate or postgraduate degree in banking, finance, or a related discipline. A minimum of 5-8 years' experience in banking or financial institutions, with a focus on managing compliance risk, particularly in financial crime compliance and BNM regulations, is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements, excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Attention to detail, an investigative nature, and the ability to deal with contentious issues effectively are also essential.
