Senior Legal Counsel

The Company is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join its established legal team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing pragmatic legal advice on a wide range of matters, including financial services regulation, commercial contracts, and technology arrangements. This role involves close collaboration with senior stakeholders across the business and requires a qualified solicitor with a strong background in financial services law and regulation, particularly in the areas of consumer credit, regulated lending, and payment services. The Senior Legal Counsel will also be involved in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various agreements, and must be adept at balancing regulatory requirements with commercial objectives. Applicants for the Senior Legal Counsel position at the company should have a minimum of 5 years' of post-qualification experience, with a preference for those who have worked in-house. The role demands a candidate with a good understanding of UK financial services and consumer credit regulation, including FCA requirements and Consumer Duty. Strong commercial contracts experience is essential, as is the ability to provide clear and commercially focused advice on legal and regulatory matters. The ideal candidate will be commercially minded, pragmatic, and comfortable working across a broad legal remit, with excellent stakeholder management skills and the confidence to advise senior colleagues. Responsibilities also include supporting regulatory change projects, managing external legal advisers, and contributing to the development of the wider legal function.
