Trustee (Board-level role)

The Company is seeking up to five new Trustees to join its Board, bringing diverse expertise and perspectives to support its mission of creating a more sustainable and equitable food system. The ideal candidates will have a background in academic leadership and research, communications and campaigning, public affairs, politics, regional representation, senior-level economics, or fundraising from foundations and family offices. The role of a Trustee is pivotal in providing strategic leadership, ensuring effective governance, and upholding the Foundation's values. Trustees are expected to be active contributors, engaging in strategic discussions, and supporting the work of the Foundation. The Company is particularly interested in candidates who can offer excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship management skills, as well as the ability to think strategically, and creatively, and engage critically with the work. Applicants for the Trustee position at the company should be prepared to commit to the role on a voluntary basis, with a time commitment of around 6-8 days a year. This includes attending Board meetings, an annual strategy away day, and participating in sub-committees. The successful candidates will be expected to have a deep commitment to the principles of equity, diversity, and inclusion, and a strong dedication to the creation of a healthier population through a more sustainable food system. While not essential, experience on charity or company boards is useful, and a background in one of the specified areas is essential. The role requires individuals with sound judgement, integrity, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. The company is particularly interested in candidates who can bring distinct experiences and imaginative systems thinking to the Board, reflecting the heterogeneous society in which we live.
