Head of Risk & Compliance

The Company is seeking a Head of Compliance and Risk to join their team. This senior role is pivotal in leading and developing the compliance and risk function, with a focus on AML matters, regulatory reporting, and SRA requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the firm's compliance policies, processes, and risk register, as well as overseeing claims, complaints, and insurer liaison. Strong technical expertise in legal compliance, AML, and risk is essential, along with previous experience as an MLRO and a deep understanding of the regulatory environment within an SRA-regulated law firm. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in a similar role, demonstrating leadership capability, the ability to inspire and develop others, and a pragmatic, commercial approach. Key responsibilities also include maintaining compliance registers, coordinating audits, and training, and producing regular compliance and risk reports for senior management. The role requires a professional with strong communication and stakeholder management skills, who can build trusted relationships across the business and contribute as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team. While not mandatory, a solicitor qualification is advantageous, and the role is suited to an individual who is ready to take the next step in their compliance career, whether as a current Head of Compliance or an experienced Senior Compliance Manager/Deputy Head.
