Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
About the Role
Greater Melbourne, Australia Area (Hybrid)(Melbourne, Australia)
The Company is seeking a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead the technical direction and engineering execution across the business. This hands-on, builder-first executive role is pivotal in the company's mission to deliver AI-assisted and agentic code review and delivery tooling. The CTO will be responsible for the engineering delivery system, organization, and operating cadence, and must have a proven ability to diagnose and remove delivery bottlenecks, as well as a strong point of view on structuring engineering teams and ownership. The successful candidate will work closely with the CEO, Chief Product Officer, and other executive team members, and will be expected to set the technical bar, ship alongside the team, and represent engineering to the board and customers. Candidates for the CTO position at the company should have a background in leading engineering through high-growth, high-change periods, with a focus on AI-assisted or agentic code review and delivery tooling. The role requires a leader who can thrive in ambiguity, is adept at making decisions based on current technical depth, and is committed to in-person, embedded leadership. Essential skills include experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, React or Angular, MongoDB, and AWS or a comparable cloud platform. Bonus skills include React Native, observability tooling, and infrastructure as code. The ideal candidate will have a track record of compressing timelines, resisting process for its own sake, and will be comfortable operating as a bridge between engineering and executive leadership.
