Interim Assistant Fire Chief of Training

The Company is seeking an Assistant Fire Chief of Training to lead the development, preparation, and evaluation of training programs and materials for the fire rescue department. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and assessing training goals, teaching a variety of courses from entry-level firefighter techniques to command and management for department officers, and ensuring that all training meets the necessary standards. This role also involves scheduling and maintaining training records, formulating drills, and preparing reports on training activities. The Assistant Fire Chief of Training will serve as a secondary contact for the media and public agencies, respond to emergency incidents, and may be called upon to supervise firefighting activities. Applicants for the Assistant Fire Chief of Training position at the company must have a Bachelor's degree in a related field, more than 4 years' of experience, and a valid Georgia Class E driver's license. The role requires a range of certifications, including NIMS, EOC/ICS Interface, Basic Life Support, National Fire Board Firefighter I and II, and various other fire and safety-related qualifications. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of fire suppression standards, public safety education practices, and the operation of fire and life safety tools. Skills in management, supervision, and problem-solving are essential, as is the ability to work in a physically demanding and dynamic environment. The Assistant Fire Chief of Training will also be expected to be on-call for after-hours emergencies and to act as the Deputy Fire Chief in their absence.
