Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Commercial Construction

Greater Topeka, KS Area
The Company is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with a strong background in commercial construction to join their team. The CFO will be a key financial partner to the ownership, playing a pivotal role in the company's growth and development. The successful candidate must have a minimum of 8 years' experience in progressive accounting or financial leadership within the construction industry, with a deep understanding of construction accounting, job costing, WIP, and percentage-of-completion. Responsibilities include leading all accounting and financial reporting, overseeing construction accounting processes, driving project forecasting, and managing budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow. The CFO will also be responsible for maintaining relationships with banks, sureties, insurance providers, and outside CPA firms, as well as leading and developing the accounting team. Applicants for the CFO position at the company should possess a Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field, and have a proven track record in financial management within the construction sector. The role requires expertise in project forecasting, cost-to-complete, change orders, retainage, and subcontractor commitments, as well as strong skills in Excel and financial analysis. The ideal candidate will have experience with financial and construction technology systems and the ability to explain financials clearly to non-financial leaders. While not mandatory, hands-on experience with Vista by Viewpoint and Procore, particularly Procore Financials, is highly preferred. The CFO will be expected to deliver timely financial analysis, strategic recommendations, and to continuously seek to improve and integrate financial and construction technology systems.
